More about Cricket in ASIAN GAMES 2018 : Support & MAKE It Happen

Dear Cricketers & those whom promote culture through sports,

How can Cricket be kicked out of Asian Games 2018 (Jakarta-Palembang)?
Is Cricket not attractive enough? than why is it the second largest sport in the world?

Firstly, I would like to convey thanks to all of you for your support with this petition. The news of decision to cut of Cricket from the 2018 ASIAN GAMES in Jakarta-Palembang (INDONESIA) has caused a huge disappointment to Cricketers throughout Asia and the World.
Knowing that Cricket is the world’s second largest sport in the world, the disappoint of removing will cause huge damage to the development of the culture of sports (through cricket) in various Asian nations in which these countries have invested a long future in Cricket. For Asian Cricketer Athletes, particularly the rapid growing nations (Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Thailand, China, Hong Kong, etc..) has been the highest hope to play the Asian Games.
Indonesia for example, as the host, The Indonesian Cricket Council (Persatuan Cricket Indonesia/PCI) has cricket actively developed in 18 provinces for both male and women. PCI has also recently won a Silver and Bronze medal at the SEA Games 2017. Similar to that South Korea has maintained the Cricket Ground of Inchon with full cricket activities taking place played by Korean nationals for men and women. Thailand has emerging crickets for the women’s. And much more other nations are at their risk to degradation of development.
Please take a look at this effort and together lets save the future of Cricket development for the future of the positive culture through sports which benefits the youths of this global community.
Together, we can help cricket to be played in the 2018 ASIAN GAMES for the better of the sport. We can put this issue that threatens the dreams of billions of fans across the world at the top of the agenda where it belongs. Please share it as much as possible with your friends, family and followers.
The sport of cricket has a known history beginning in the late 16th century. Having originated in south-east England, it became the country's national sport in the 18th century and has developed globally in the 19th and 20th centuries. International matches have been played since 1844 and Test cricket began, retrospectively recognised, in 1877. Cricket is the world's second most popular spectator sport after association football. Governance is by the International Cricket Council (ICC) which has more than over one hundred members nations. (source: Wikipedia)

The team sport of Cricket became a medal sport at the 2010 Asian Games. The last time cricket featured in a major multi-sport event was at the 1998 Commonwealth Games held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The gold medal was won on that occasion by South Africa, who defeated Australia by 4 wickets in the final with New Zealand winning the bronze medal. At a general meeting of the Olympic Council of Asia, held in Kuwait on 17 April 2007, it was announced that cricket would be included as a medal sport in the 2010 Asian Games to be held in Guangzhou. Matches would be played on a Twenty20, 20-overs per side format.

Following the announcement, Asian Cricket Council Chief Executive Syed Ashraful Huq said "Cricket will receive a major boost across Asia and in particular China, as a result of this enlightened decision. The Asian Cricket Council pledges its support to the Guangzhou games organizers in order to make the event a success. (source: Wikipedia)
