Zaveri R T High School Kadi

In Kadi town Kothari HighSchool was existing since 1921. It was named after donor Shri Bholanath Chhotalal Kothari. In 1937 The same HighShool was named Zaveri R T High School. Name was given after late Shri Ramshankar Tribhovandas Zaveri as Rs. 40,000 donation was given by his wife Mahalaxmiben Zaveri.

Somehow Building of the School was destroyed by fire in Feb. 1943 and government decided to shut down the school. Then the enthusiastic leaders of the town came forward and decided to run the school by themselves and started raising the fund. Owner of the cotton mill of Kadi, Shri Chhotalal Hirachand Kadiya donated Rs. 25000 to jump start the fund raising. Kadi Kelavani Mandal was established as a governing body of the school.

Citizens of Kadi worked hard to raise funds. Shri Mulchand das Parekh, Dr. Natverlal G. Jambudi, Advocate Govindlal Modi like workers went door to door and went to Bombay and other places and successfully collected necessary money. On 12th June, 1944 Kadi Kelavani Mandal took over the charge of Zaveri R T High School and from then to date it is successfully running the school.

Diwan Shri Motilal Desai was the first president of Kadi Kelavani Mandal. Dr. Natverlal G. Jambudi was the first chairman and he was serving as a chairman from 1944 to 1952. Shri Govindlal Modi served as chairman of K K M from 1953 to 1967.

Kadi Kelavani Mandal started to build a new building for the school as soon as money was available. Stone foundation ceremony for the new building was done on 3rd April, 1948. Ground floor and two wings were ready now and inauguration ceremony was done on 23rd, October 1953. By 1956 whole building was ready with two wings , ground and first floor. This building is in use till today. Since then Zaveri R T High School is progressing day by day and serving the people of Kadi.
