About:

Xavier Institute of Polytechnic and Technology (XIPT) was established in 2010 at Bargawan, Namkum by Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi. XIPT is a new venture of Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi into technical education in the state and it is the first diploma level technical institute by the Ranchi Jesuit Society in Jharkhand offering engineering courses.

XISS was established in 1955 with the objective of training young men and women in Rural Development, Personnel Management and Industrial Relations. In 1973 the institute was registered as a separate educational society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. Over the years, XISS has developed its own distinct identity as a centre of excellence in management education, research, consultancy and development interventions.

XIPT offers a pollution free environment for students, staff members and is located approximately 6 kilometers away from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. The campus is spread over an area of more than 10 acres of land. The classes for the first batch of session 2010-2013 started from 01/10/2010 and it has witnessed successful completion of one year.

XIPT, since its inception, has identified itself as a centre for academic excellence. As a technical institution, XIPT has a vision of catering the need of technical education in the state. XIPT also visualizes itself as a centre of excellence in the country, imparting value driven technical education as XISS has ranked 36th among the Business Schools in India.

Admission
Admission in the diploma level courses is through the exam conducted by JCECE Board, Jharkhand for 10th passed candidates. The candidates who qualify in the said examination and are recommended are eligible to take admission in the respective courses. The institute doesn’t conduct any examination of its own.

Affiliation:

The institute is affiliated to State Board of Technical Education, Jharkhand and approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. The diploma to the students will be awarded by the State Board of Technical Education, Jharkhand.
