Built on a private mango orchard, Woods At Sasan is located some 60 km from the ancient Portuguese settlement of Diu and 400 km from the state capital of Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The Gir Forest is home to the world-famous Asiatic lion, over 300 species of wild birds, and is just a 90 minutes drive away from one of the most important Hindu temples in India: the Somnath Temple.
We believe that the best kind of host is one that learns with their heart, not from the books.
Our aim is to offer tailor-made experiences with soul by providing warm, friendly service and showcasing the best of regional cultures by working with – and from within – the local community. We’re young, we’re fresh and we like to do things differently.
Collaborating with a host of international consultants, the 1000 Island design team was inspired by the local soul of the Gujarat region and the best of international trends from the world of hospitality and design. Recognizing the importance of working closely with the local community, we teamed up with local artisans to source hand-made designs constructed with local and sustainable materials.
