Wienerberger was founded by Alois Miesbach in 1819 in Vienna (Austria). With a pedigree of almost 200 years; Wienerberger group is the World's largest producer of clay (terracotta) building bricks and Nr. 1 in the clay roof market in Europe. The group also holds leading positions in pavers in Europe. With a total of 226 plants in 30 countries and five export markets, Wienerberger achieved revenues of € 2355.5 million and profits of € 245.5 million (EBITDA) in 2012. Wienerberger has a global workforce of 13,060. The Wienerberger strategy is based on profitable growth with a focus on products for wall, façade, roof and surface. The company believes in clay as a natural building material that creates sustainable living spaces.
Wienerberger has established a company in Bangalore in 2006 with the aim to produce high quality clay building materials for the local market.

The goal of Wienerberger India is to meet the design requirements of architects, developers and builders in order to progress with time while always keeping the end customer in mind. The final aim is to create natural and healthy living spaces and to build value for generations.

The company in Bangalore has started the production of high-quality Clay Bricks, under the brand name POROTHERM, since the second quarter of 2009. We will also be manufacturing India's first Thermal Insulated Clay Brick.

Since our inception in India we import a range of specialty products from our overseas factories. This range represents products for façades (ArGeTon) and roofs (KORAMIC) that are not available in India so far.
