In year 1966 a group of young, fresh postgraduate doctors from B.J. Medical College, Pune, India walked out with a mission in mind , a mission to dedicate themselves for the cause of distant, deprived people of Latur village in Central India and the surrounding region which longed for basic medical service .The idea conceived and nurtured into Vivekanand Medical Research Society, Latur, based on trusteeship principle in its true spirit.
