Vijayawada International Airport

This is in AP state capital region. Vijayawada airport is situated at Gannavaram, Vijayawada rural i.e., 13.5 KM from Vijayawada city center. Vijayawada airport served as an air force base during the World War II, after which it was converted into a civilian airport.

This airport serves air passenger needs of Kishna, Guntur, West Godavari and Prakasam districts of Andhra Pradesh. This is second largest airport in Andhra Pradesh after Visakhapatnam in terms of passengers and flight movements. This domestic airport has connectivity to many important destinations in India. With increased air passenger traffic and Vijayawada being ad-hoc capital of reorganized Andhra Pradesh state, Airports Authority of India is upgrading facilities at this airport and drafting plans to build new Integrated terminal building.

This airport is hub for Air Costa airlines.
