Vedavyasa Vidyalayam

Veda Vyasa Vidyalayam is run by Bharatheeya Vidyanikethan, the Kerala Charter of Vidya Bharathi Akhila Bharatheeya Siksha Samsthan, an all India organization working in the field of education. Inspired by Vidya Bharathi, Bharatheeya Vidyanikethan entered the field of education in the state in 1979, preparing teachers for pre-school stage and starting Sisumandirs all over Kerala. Bharatheeya Vidyanikethan aimed at establishing a model school in every district. Thus, Vedavyasa Vidyalayam was started in Kozhikode.


The school, affiliated to C.B.S.E and situated on the way to Providence Women’s College, lays stress on imparting education for the all round development of the child’s personality and strives hard to inculcate the feeling of patriotism, national integration and fraternity among the budding generation. The system of education formulated b y Vidya Bharathi and followed by Vidya Nikethan and Veda Vyasa Vidyalayam emphasizes all round development of the personality of every individual child imbibing with the essential values of life, nationalism, knowledge, courage and sense of responsibility towards society. Instead of simply coaching to pass examinations the school teaches children to learn. Teaching is based on “Panchanga Sikshan”, where the child receives the rudiments of Sanskrit, Yoga, Music, Moral Values and Physical Education. Functioning in the belief that the school is an extention of the home, the faculty makes sure that each child is given a chance to survive in this highly competitive world.


The school also takes pride in the visit of His Excellency, The president of India, *Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam* on 25th September, 2003, in which students from all over Kozhikode got a chance to interact with him. The man of high thinking and simple living infused the children with courage and a positive approach and also etched out the path to realize a development of India. Our hope is to contribute our bit in shaping students to become the building blocks of our nation.
