Vasaicha Maharaja

Thirty Five years back Anand Nagar residential area in Vasai was just established by the blessings of Lord Ganesha. And because of his divine blessings people of Anand Nagar of various caste and creed came together with a common cause of starting Ganesh Festival in the residential area and ANAND NAGAR SARVAJANIK GANESHUTSAV MANDAL was established. The Mandal started undertaking various social causes tree plantation,cleanliness drive,constructiong roads by own contributions,students felicitation and distribution of free books and school bags to the needy students and organizing dance,singing and sports competetions for the upliftment of childrens.
The mandal also provided to the needy people of Latur region in Maharashtra during the earth quake. And also the volunteers of the mandal provided help to the people who were in distress during serial bomb blasts in trains at Vasai Station. By providing helping hands since last 35 years the volunteers of mandal feel that by such social causes they have served the VASAICHA MAHARAJA in more fruitfull way.
Every month on the eve of Sankashti Chaturthi the volunteers of Mandal and residents of Anand Nagar come together to perform pooja of Lord Ganesha. And Every year on the eve of Angarika Sankasthi the mandal organises the Rath Yatra of Lord Ganesha from Anand Nagar to Vasai Village Siddhivinayak Temple. And every year before the preparations of Ganesh Festival starts the members of the mandal go to Ashtavinayak Temples of Lord Ganesha in Maharashtra to seek Lord Ganesha's blessings. The Mandal through out the year organises and celebrates every Religious Festival like Holi, Janmashtami, Makarsankranti, Diwali,Khojagiri-Poornima,etc.
The Mandal has also established a Dahi-Handi Festival group known as "VASAICHA MAHARAJA GOVINDA PATHAK" in which both males and females participate with great joy.

VASAICHA MAHARAJA is the most revered and prayed Ganpati idol, during the annual Ganesh festival held in Vasai [Mumbai]. It is so believed that Vasaicha Maharaja fulfills each and every wish of his devotees and hence people throng to take his darshan during the 7 day Ganpati festival each year.The striking beautiful and well sculpted Ganesh Idol which is almost 15 feet in height is what makes its devotees seek a glimpse of him during this annual festival. The Ganpati idol is the only idol in Maharashtra,India fully dressed up in finery and decked up with real jewelery specially made to order to fit coupled with elaborate decorations of the pandals, the entire Vasaicha Maharaja Ganpati pandal looks simply divine. The awesome idol of VASAICHA MAHARAJA is made by World's famous Ganesh Idol Sculptor Late.Mr.Vijay Khatu.

The "ANAND NAGAR SARVAJANIK GANESHOTSAV MANDAL" was established to conduct the Ganpati festival in the true religious spirit. The ANAND NAGAR SARVAJANIK GANESHOTSAV MANDAL also organizes and makes elaborate arrangements of the entire 7 day festival. Apart from holding religious ceremonies, many cultural programmes are also held which are attended by people in large numbers.
