Valley Cold Store was established in the year 1981 at Nayabazar, KMC-16, Kathmandu, Nepal. At the beginning, the Store was formally registered as a proprietorship firm under the local authority of the government of Nepal. Legal status of the Store remained as it is for the next three years and it changed its status to partnership in 1984. The partnership entity continued its business for about next fifteen years and the same firm was converted into a private limited company in the year 1999.

The Vision of Valley Group in the national context is to be a strong, vibrant and sustainable private sector led agro enterprise sector capable of contributing high and broad based economic growth

To expand and strengthen market orient private sector driven poultry and agro enterprises in order to increase the value and volume of high value products all domestically and internationally.

1. Food Assurance and traceability
a. We have been following and practicing international standard Food Safety system within the entire organization we are ISO22000:2005(HACCP principles) certified, Halal Certified.
b. Traceability is as important to us as it is to our customer and we ensure that full information is given on our product labels, allowing us to trace right back from the feed given to the chicken.
2. Community & Ethical standards
a. We support local communities by recruiting locally based employees wherever possible in order to benefit the communities within our plants are located.
b. We have take part in the society welfare. We have made different small charitable donations, supports to local institutions and sponsored in different cultural events. We have take part in plantation, cleaning around in all location where our operations are carrying on.
c. We are committed to integrity therefore, Ethical standards are very important in relation to the way we conduct our business and all the Groups’ employees are expected to behave ethically in their work and adhere to companies’ ethical standards.
3. Environmental Protection
a. Valley Cold Store embrace production procedures that are environmentally friendly and promote healthy values that in turn promote development and value to protect its internal and external environment by minimizing and managing solid organic wastes, by-products, wastewater, emissions to air and energy consumption.
i. Most of the solid organic wastes are use to produced by products like: animal feed, feather meal, bone meal, pet meal etc.
ii. Solid wastes like feathers are salable to different institution for furthering processing.
iii. Solid wastes like offal are also saleable to different institution like pig farming, fish farming and shrimp farming.
iv. Waste water is treated via ETP Plant (Effluent Treatment Plant) to reuse of water in gardening, flushing, cleaning some areas etc.
v. Emissions to air are generally odor where we continually clean and sanitize our work place with recommended measures to control odor emissions as per food safety guidelines.
vi. Our processing facilities uses energy to heat water and produce steam for process application, cleaning purposes and for the operation of mechanical and electrical equipment, refrigeration unit. In order to minimize the uses of energy we have installed
1. Solar panels for hot water.
2. Facility are generally run during the night time
3. Coverage and insulation of different heat and refrigerator lines.
4. Setting alarms to alert operators when cold units doors are open.
5. Recovery of evaporative energy in the rendering process.
6. Internal environment are regularly clean and sanitize and all workers are provided training time to time and are required to maintained personal hygiene practice.
