Valiyakavu Bhagavathy Temple

Valikavau Bhagavathy Temple is situated 3 km away from Kothamanglam near Aluva- Munnar highway at Ernakulam District Kerala. It’s one of oldest Devi temple in kerala . Cherupurath Sreekrishna Swami Temple is also near located and worshiped Loard Krishna. In kerala only in few temple devi having “vaishnava chaithanya “ along with Shank , Chakra , Gadha and Padma. The temple and its history is directly related with history of Kothamangalam and its near by places. Many years before the temple administration was managed by ‘mana’ named “ Padutholmana” currently the temple administration is under by the trust elected by every year through “Pothuyogam” ( Anuel meeting).

Thrikarthika maholsavam is the famous festival of temple. Every year of ‘Karthika’ star on Malayam month” Vrishchikam”( Nov- Dec) ulsavam celebrating. The festival commence on “ Ekadashi” at Cherupurath Sree Krishna Swami Temple and ends the day Karthika at Valiakavu Bhagavathy Temple. Thousands of devotees came on these days from various part of kerala.

The temple is geographically located in a beautiful place, its near by a temple pond called Chira having 1.3 acre area & “Meenoot” is one of the main offerings for devotees.
