Contests in most years were multi cornered but only winners and runners are being mentioned. Ram Janam Majhi representing Congress defeated Asta Das of CPI(M) in 1996.Raj Kumar Mondal of CPI(M) defeated Gunakar Sinha of Congress in 1991, Gobinda Sinha of Congress in 1987, Gunakar Singh of Congress in 1982, and Arun Pramnik of Janata Party in 1977.
