Ulgulan

The university on its motto of promoting truth and endurance is celebrating the rebel spirit of the youth. Ulgulan is a festival of sports, literature and culture.‘Ulgulan’ refers to one of the lesser-known fights against British rule - that of the tribal uprisings which constituted an important part of the defiance of the colonial regime. The movement of Ulgulan was sought to establish the right of the indigenous people over their resources which were being snatched away from them by the colonial rulers. We, the students of National University of Study and Research in Law, in furtherance of the movement led by BirsaMunda, are here to celebrate the beauty of uprisings. Ulgulanis about bringing together the voices of all the students from all the universities, colleges and other educational institutions across the country unto a singular platform. Through various cultural, literary and sporting events we shall reflect back upon the great revolutionary traditions, of this heroic martyr. A potent concoction of cultural, academic and literary events, it will put to test the intellectual, oratory, artistic and creative skills of the participants across the participating colleges. Ulgulan will be the perfect forum to pit your talents against the best available in the fraternity of law students while basking in the historical heritage, spirits and enigma of Jharkhand.
