Tirthan Anglers' Retreat

Tucked into a coniferous recess at the bottom of a short winding path (roughly 200 metres), Tirthan Anglers’ Retreat is hemmed in by a lively trout-rich beck on one side with terraced fields and woodlands along the others.

It is located at 6000 feet on the right bank of the Palachan stream in Barnagi village, six kilometres uphill from Gushaini and a mere four kilometres short of Bathad, the road head. The retreat’s enviable setting assures it a seclusion most welcome and a clime most genial.

What’s more, for those ‘fishy’ moments, visitors need look no further than the boulder-strewn riverbank bordering the retreat. Angling pools replete with freshwater fish, including rainbow trout, line most of the stretch here.
