June 5 is celebrated as World Environment Day. Objective is to raise global awareness and to encourage positive environmental action to protect nature and the planet Earth.

It is no secret that pollution levels in India are incredibly high and action is needed from everyone to work towards reducing them.
In our endeavour towards this, The Times of India group has brought Times Green Shopping.

Objective of this exercise is not a short term solution. The key aim is to inculcate environment friendly practices and encourage people to recycle.

As per the data available plastic bags, at an average are used for 25 minutes and there are around one million plastic bags in use per minute. To make matters worse, it takes from 100 to 500 years for a plastic bag to disintegrate.
Though it may still not be enough, one can do a lot by using recycled bags for shopping.

Our concept is simple, if you are shopping at one of Times Green Shopping participating outlets from 5th to 30th June 2017, you can get attractive discounts. Only condition is that you carry a recycled shopping bag.
