The Himalayan Chalet

Since centuries Himalayas has been a home for legendary souls, among them one was Shyama Charan Lahiri "Lahiri Mahasaya" who was deemed to obtain the knowledge of Kriya Yoga from Mahavatar Babaji in a substantial cave near Dunagiri. In 1861, when Lahiri Mahasaya was transferred to Ranikhet, it is believed that Mahasaya was enchanted by the voice which directed him to the cave where his later to become guru Mahavatar Babaji was already waiting for him. Thereon, he received the techniques of Kriya yoga and spent his life flourishing it. Even today, existence of the cave can be nourished and the presence of the baba can be felt.
