Thangal Kunju Musaliar College of Engineering

Thangal Kunju Musaliar College of Engineering, founded in 1958, is the first government aided engineering institution in the Indian state of Kerala. The college is located at Karikode, from the city of Kollam in southern Kerala. The foundation stone was laid by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the erstwhile President of India on 3rd February 1956.The institution is affiliated with the University of Kerala. Admissions to the college are based on the Kerala Engineering Agricultural Medical Examination conducted by the Kerala state Commission of Entrance Examinations.It is widely regarded by many as the best engineering institute of the state and is the most sought after destination for engineering aspirants across the state.The college has been ranked among the top 150 engineering institutes in the country by the National Institutional Ranking Framework governed by the MHRD.TKM College of Engineering is the only engineering institution in the state of Kerala to be awarded the six year accreditation status by the National Board of Accreditation..The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning Local chapter of TKM College of Engineering has been honored as one of the top performing NPTEL chapters within the top 10 best performing institutes with AAA Rating. Careers360, promoted by the Outlook Group, ranked TKM as the second best institute among the top engineering colleges in Kerala with AAAA rating.It is an institution of National Importance and is currently being funded jointly by the Government of Kerala and the World Bank under the TEQIP program.
