Sur Mandir

Sur Mandir is a premier institution for learning Hindustani Classical, Semi-Classical and Light Music (Vocal) in Ambala Cantt.

Founded in the year 2004 by Mrs. Nidhi Narang, Sur Mandir’s mission is to train, educate and develop students to excel in classical music as a career. Our aim is to inspire students to achieve their full musical potential by preparing each student with a solid foundation in classical singing, and provide a gateway for performance opportunities. Musical development of each of our students is the foundation of our curriculum.

Sur Mandir also assists students in obtaining certificates and diplomas in Hindustani Classical Music (Vocal) in affiliation with Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh, which is a very well-known educational institution doing yeoman service for the promotion, preservation and dissemination of Indian classical arts of music, dance and fine arts (painting) since its inception in 1956.

The founder of Sur Mandir, Mrs. Nidhi Narang, has been practicing her art since the age of 4. In her later years, she was trained by her Gurus - Pandit Yashpaul (Agra Gharaana) and Pandit Ganesh Prasad Sharma (Sahaswan, Bhatt and Gwalior Gharaana), both well renowned, multi-award winners and nationally acclaimed. She has also been recognized and awarded for Hindustani Classical Vocal Music by Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan, the oldest festival of Indian Classical Music in the world (1875 - present) and has been the face behind the vocal music training of lead Bollywood actress - Parineeti Chopra and SaReGaMaPa 2016 Finalist - Rupali Jagga.
