Sundarnagar is a city and a municipal council in Mandi district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.
Sundarnagar is located at 31.53° N 76.88° E[1]. It has an average elevation of 861 metres (2824 feet).Formerly it was a princely state, known as Suket This picturesque town justifies its name.Situated on National Highway 21, almost 5.5 hours from Chandigarh.
The nearest airport is Bhuntar, near Kullu.As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Sundarnagar had a population of 23,979. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Sundarnagar has an average literacy rate of 82%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 85%, and female literacy is 78%. In Sundarnagar, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age. Sunder Nagar has a high literacy rate.There is a Govt. Polytechnic,a dental college and hospital[Himchal Dental College], a degree college [M.L.S.M.] besides many schoools. There is a mixture of himachalis and punjaabis in this town. This is due to the presence of B.B.M.B.
