STAR FILM INSTITUTE [SFI] is world’s first institute devoted to Bollywood school of cinema. SFI believes that Bollywood has fulfilled Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of a common Indian language by popularizing Hindi from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, Jawahar Lal Nehru’s dream of an industrial and prosperous India by being consistently optimistic and Sardar Patel’s dream of an integrated India by uniting 125 crore Indians in a bond of common culture.

Whether one is Priyadarshan from Kerala, Ram Gopal Verma from Andhra Pradesh or Mani Ratnam from Tamil Nadu, the rivers of the finest cinematic talents from the regional cinemas pour into the ocean of Bollywood – the National Cinema of India. If we look from a global perspective then we can realize that even those who are not familiar with Hindi cinema can connect Bollywood with cinema because of Hollywood’s association with cinema. SFI therefore believes that we must unanimously endorse Bollywood as the global brand name of popular Hindi cinema.

SFI believes that Bollywood defends the economic and cultural sovereignty of our country by resisting Hollywood’s repeated attempts to make inroads into the Indian film market. Hollywood which has captured the entire global film market by marginalizing the national film industries of all the countries has not been able to take its market share beyond 5% in India while in the international market Bollywood is increasing its share with each passing day.

SFI believes that Bollywood brings prosperity to our economy because when its products click the entire economy clicks as all the multiplexes are located in the malls. The sale of the tickets of a hit film ensures greater foot falls in the malls which get converted into the sale of all the goods and services that are there for sale.

For all its contribution to the nation and the national economy Bollywood has received nothing but contempt and ridicule from the intellectuals who call the so-called art cinema, good cinema and run down Bollywood as bad cinema. This intellectual abuse has resulted in the neglect and marginalization of the Bollywood school of cinema in each and every film school that exists at present. Star Film Institute[SFI] seeks to end this injustice by fulfilling the following objectives:
