Its two-year program confers the Master in Business Administration (MBA), approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, and in affiliation with Bharathidasan University, Trichy.JIM has been one of the most reputed Jesuit B school in india.ProgrammeBefore first semester, a one-month bridge course is given along with intensive foundation courses in basic mathematics, communication, functional English, accountancy, computer skills, and behavioral science. The curriculum is focused on action learning, which requires that students apply concepts learned in the classroom to real-world business settings. Courses are taught using the case method, lectures, team projects, and hands-on Action Learning Labs. The academic level of coursework is considered extremely demanding by business school standards, with a greater emphasis on analytical reasoning and quantitative analysis than most programs.Academic rigor has a strong influence on the school's culture. The first semester, also known as the core, is often considered the most difficult semester by design. After second semester students are required to intern in a business for eight weeks and give a written and oral report on the experience. All first year courses are compulsory. The second year includes six core courses, and four electives in the student's two areas of specialization, over the two semesters, Thirty-seven electives are offered in the fields of Finance, Systems, Marketing, and Human Resource Management. A paper must be submitted on one of the student's two areas of specialization. In line with the Jesuit aim of forming men and women for others, students are required to live in a village for a week and to suggest approaches that might be taken toward the resolution of problems faced by the villagers. JIM offers intensive, three-day workshops in the areas of personal growth, building self-esteem, value formation, and interpersonal effectiveness. This includes training in neuro-linguistic programming, rational emotive therapy, managing emotions, time management, and stress management.
