" Education is for life not for mere living " , is the motto of Sri Sathya Sai Vidhyapeeth built on the hillock named 'Srisailam' by the great poet Rabindranath Tagore. Baghwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba is its life and soul .His teachings are its inspiration and goals. The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education ( C.B.S.E.), New Delhi. The two aim factors which make the school unique among other schools are Discipline and Value based education that it imparts. Over the yeras, The Alamance of the school clearly shows a crescendo for it has been a saga of progress ever since the school came into being 37 years ago; to be precise 30th May 1976 by the holy hands of Baghwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. The school today fosters nearly 1000 students, boys and girls hailing from different states of the country imparting Srisailam an air of miniature India. Baba has always regarded the young generation as the most promising of the country's resources. To fulfill the mission we have thousands of students occupying key roles across the length and breadth of the country. In their respective relems they carve for themselves a unique position as gems stepping out of the portals of Sri Sathya Sai Vidhyapeeth, Srisailam. Fortunately enough the sylvan serene setting we have here at Srisailam encompassing nearly 90 acres is a befitting arena for implementing 'educare' - the holistic educational philosophy formulated by Baghwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. The fresh ecology with its rich and varied setting is fit enough to inspire anyone who happens to touch this soil.

Initially the school catered to the needs of residential wing only. Ever since the school came into being in 1976 to 2007 it has purely been a residential one. The introduction of day scholar The teaching methods aim at imparting human values integrated with the curriculum. The school gives equal importance to sports and games to encourage healthy competetion, character building and phisque.
