On the outskirts of Jangareddygudem in West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh, there are Seven Hills. One hill houses Lord Vishnu and is now known as Gokula Tirumala Parijatagiri. On the fourth hill deep into a cave, is the idol of Lord Shiva along with the idols of Lord Ganesh and Lord Subramanyeswara Swamy. There is also an idol of Lord Shiv talking alms from the Divine Goddess Annapoorneswari among others.
It is widely believed that the temple is ancient and was lost to the ravages of time. The Lord Shiv is was worshipped by Lord Ram along with Sita Devi and Lakshman on their tour of Dandakaranyam, The great Gautama Maharshi is said to have mediated on the hills.
The temple is accepted to have been rediscovered by design of the Lord Shiv himself in March of 2010. He is said to have appeared to a devotee named Venkata Lakshmi and asked to be found inside the cave. The Lord is always immersed in the holy water that devotees believe is the divine Ganga herself.
A magnificent omnipresent power who is once again receiving prayers and offering hope peace and solace to all devotees. As more and more findings occur with each passing day, it will be incredible to see all that the cave has to offer.
