Who we are..??
SMarTeg Agro Solutions was established in 2015 with the objective of producing premium quality paddy seedlings in trays with enriched media and transplanting it using transplanters with the locally preferred varieties by the farmers in Tamil Nadu.

How SMarTeg differ from others..??
Unlike other unorganized transplanting services we have a separate set up and infrastructure for production and nursery growing. SMarTeg approach growers with an integrated solutions from seed procurement to crop care until harvesting.


(a) Order generation:

• Operational geographies were identified and finalized based on the water availability, awareness towards mechanization, and season basis.
• Aiming to achieve 4 hubs with 500 acres each within the radius of 100 kms to deliver the transplanting and crop care services efficiently and on time.
• Technicians were fully trained on the communication to be given to farmers.

(b) Raw material procurement:

• Unlike other local players seeds were procured from top vendors of TN (Rasi & T.Stanes) after checking the purity and germination quality. Seeds are not procured from farmers and seedlings will not be grown in farmer fields.
• Enriched media was used as substrate for seedlings which will be procured from the qualified vendor after having bioassay test. Seedlings grown in media shows good tillers than seedlings grown in soil.


(c) Production Unit:

• SMarTeg have all the required infrastructure for specialized tray production, Sowing line, trays storage facility for seeds and chemicals.
• Two sowing line is there which has the capacity for 2000 trays / day each. When operated in full fledge we can cover the production of 70 acres/ day.

(d) Premium Quality Paddy Seedlings in trays:

• Our nursery seedlings are being constantly monitored against diseases and pests, using environmental friendly control methods with highly qualified people.
• This is to ensure we grow strong and healthy seedlings that can give good productive tillers thus it results in higher yield.

(e) Mechanized transplanting:

• Aiming 5 acre/ day/ machine with minimal gaps in fields and 4 to 5 seedlings / hill with optimum speed. The maximum acres covered in a day will make farmers happy and it will reduce the investment on labours. Planning was done in such a way to satisfy the farmer and also effectively using the resources.

(f) Crop care activities:

• SMarTeg conducting regular field visits before and after transplanting and suitable Agronomical and Crop Protection recommendation will be given by highly qualified field technicians {B.Sc. (Ag) and M.Sc. (Ag)}.
