S.I.M High School, Nagam

Asalamu Alykum,
The inception of this prestigious school came to light in the troubled times-1984. The limitations of resources and the work force for the school in those days was a real challenge. However, keeping the education at the fore front, some of the dedicated people of the Nagam, with an impartial and unbiased attitude, came forward to educate the children, around the area of Nagam, by kick-starting a learning centre, keeping in view the parallel importance of religious and worldly knowledge. In the beginning, it was named ‘Islamic Model School’. Later it was renamed as Sheikh-Ul-Alam Islamic School, keeping in view the mission and essence of Sheikhl-Ul-Aalam (R.A) in teaching the people of Kashmir, the path of righteousness through his shruk’s(verses) and contemporarily it is better known as ‘Sheikh-Ul-Alam Islamic Model High School’ after upgradation in 2012.
One can’t ignore the sacrifices of teachers till date, in the form of time and effort at a very meager income. The tradition, moral principles and unique etiquettes are still an integral part of the school. There have been a lot of fast paced transactions in the past 3 decades- be it scientific, cultural, the way of communication or implementation of new educational regulations and demands. It is always a intimidating and daunting tasks to be the part of change, keeping the roots unmoved. However this school has always been progressing exponentially, inch by inch, for the good, with the grace of Almighty. Those who have been the part of this school- be it parents; teachers or students- can admit the fact pretty well. This school has given to the society ‘The Moral Product’ in the form of students. There is no denying the fact that this school has been the foundation stone of most of the today’s young and dynamic Civil Service Officers, Doctors, Engineers and Teachers etc of or around Nagam.
