One day, a Television veteran – Sanjay Reddy – and a New Media geek – Anil Pallala – got together and decided to do something SILLY in Digital Media. And SillyMonks got founded on 20th Sept 2013, with an angel funding from Sai Korrapati owner of a leading film production house Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram, and thus began our journey with the distribution of Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram films. Fast forward three years, and today we have partnered with over 50 south Indian production houses to help them build a digital presence, and develop business in the digital distribution network space.
We are proud to say that SillyMonks steered digital marketing for films like ‘I’ (Tamil), ‘Rudhramadevi’ (Telugu), ‘Peruchazhi’ (Malayalam), ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’ (Telugu), ‘Guntur Talkies’ (Telugu) and many more.
We didn’t want to stop at movies and at this stage for take-off, another angel investor Sreenivasa Musani of Ektha group gave us the required thrust & fuel to take off into unchartered territories and that’s when we decided to take things a little further. We started working more closely with original content creators, and SillyMonks is now the youngest, smallest, and most loveable of India’s 7-8 YouTube MCNs (Multi Channel Networks). We’ve shared a wonderful journey with our creators, and look forward to many more successful partnerships to come.
