The mosque was built by Sidi Saiyyed, and he was a slave of Sultan Ahmed Shah. India includes ten semi circular windows, the application of which is emphasized by the fine mesh covering them, which is more commonly recognized as jail.

The back wall is filled with quadrangle stone pierced panels in geometrical designs. The two bays flanking the middle aisle have reticulated stone slabs carved in designs of tangled trees as well as foliage, a palm and parasite motif.

This intricately carved stone window is identified as the Sidi Saiyyed Jali. This exceptional Jali dating just about 500 years ago and the mosque was built in the last year of the Sultanate of Gujarat. The back wall is filled with square stone pierced panels in geometrical designs

It is an excellent model of Indo-Saracenic architecture. This jali enthused the design of the logo of the Indian institute of management Ahmadabad. The British plundered the mosque and they extracted the central jali and took it to the London Museum for put on show.
