Chadeshvar Mahadev Temple
A milestone in temple architecture
This 9th-century temple, with a simple plan and a
curvilinear shikhara, is a milestone in the evolution of
temple architecture in Gujarat.
The only notable ornamentation is in the sanctum
doorway and the brackets with kichakas and
vyalamukhas above the columns. The ceilings of the
mandap and sanctum are flat and unadorned.
This architectural style is typical of the post-Maitraka period.
