Shivgadi DHAM

Shivgadi the word is came from two words shiv & gadi. shiv means "lord shiva" &gadi mean "residence".i,e. "shiv ka ghar"
it is the temple of shiv in beautiful cave of the rock mountain.
here "shivling" is placed inside the dark cave.
In the "shivling" drop of water falls whole year.
it is otherwise known as "gajeshwar nath dham".the name comes from a devil "gajashur" which is killed in this place by the "lord shiva".
It is situated five km far from "barhait block"(sahibganj)

and 25 km far from railway jn. "barharwa".
sahibganj is the boarder of jharkhand & bihar near from bhagalpur.it is also near from bengal ,jharkhand boarder.
so a lot of people came from those states in month of "shavan" and also in "mahashivratri festival".
It is surrounded by hills from three sides.you can see here some animals like monkey,fox(sometimes).
In month of "savan" its scenery is amazing.
you can see waterfall this time whose drops falls direct the main gate of cave.
People bond stones in the root of a tree which is called "boddha tree" present in top of the mountain.
people beliefes that due to this process any desire of anyone fulfilled by the god shiva .
in shavan month a fare organised by comitee.

In shivaratri you can see a community of peole's "pahadia".they live in mountain.
you can see there worship which is in very different manner.& including dance also.
