Shiksha Sena

Shikshasena began its journey after some us,the villagers, wanted to change the way our children were educated. There were several meetings of small groups to gauge the mood of the villagers. After that we realised that most of the people were with us. We faced many obstacles from people who had vested interest in non implementation of the RTE and related schemes. But our efforts never stopped. Soon we realised that confining the work to just Majagram would not suffice, so we started meeting people from nearby villages including Dooloogram, Durganagar, Purba Doyapore, Doyapore, Kalain Beel . After several meetings under the hurricane lanterns in the huts of these tea gardens we planned to meet the teachers. We met all those who were working as teacher in these villages and sought their cooperation. We organised an inter village meeting on 23rd Dec 2012.
