Our village is a small beautiful and peaceful village surrounded by lash green area and paddy & vegetable fields. It is situated beside the river Budhabalanga.

Our village have a very old Primary School (Shankarpur U.P. School) and a Middle English School (Trishakti M.E. School).

A newly constructed beautiful temple (Radha-Krishna Temple) is there in the middle of the village and near to the School. An annual function (Hari Haata) celebrated in the temple field. The villagers are involved in different spiritual activity. Many villagers are followers of Jagat Guru Thakur Shri Shri Abhiram Paramahansa Dev. Some villagers are also followers of Sai Baba.

The main profession of the peoples are farming. But many professional are there like Teacher, Artist, Software Engineers and industrial jobs.
