School of Management and Entrepreneurship (SME) at the Shiv Nadar University (SNU) strongly believes what the country and the world need in these difficult times are leader-managers who can lead their organizations in uncertain, hyper-competitive and hostile environments and who are entrepreneurial, principled and caring.
The SME believes that there is a dire need for a paradigm shift in management education to be able to develop outstanding leaders and entrepreneurs for the unfolding economic, political and social scenario.
The SME also strongly believes that there is an urgent need to bring back a balance in the three important legs of an excellent MBA program - knowledge, skills, values and attitudes.
The SME believes that it is necessary to have a multi-faceted strategy that addresses the critical management related problems facing the country. Today we need outstanding leader-managers and entrepreneurs who would be able to take on the task of transforming the country into a vibrant economy and just society. We need young leaders-managers who see their tasks as not only to make profits for their companies but also to contribute to the development of the larger society of which their organizations are a part. Therefore we see management as a much larger concept than “business administration”. It deals with the problems of not just business organizations, but different kinds of organizations including for profit as well as non- profit organizations in the private sector as well as the public sector , government department and non-government organizations; manufacturing as well as service organizations; etc.
