Schengen - 'Deli, Bistro and Pub', is the Capital's first-ever, all encompassing fine dining eatery.
Close your eyes, and this concept restaurant shall, with its rich aromas invite you into the Schengen Area, even as you sit in the heart of the Capital. Walk down the cobbled lanes of Naples with the hit of heady pizza. Or bask in Parisian sunlight with a buttery croissant and a soul-warming hot chocolate....
Schengen will bring you all this and more. A rich mix of authentic European fare with New World cuisine, Schengen holds aplenty for the local food enthusiasts with an evolving palate, while providing expatriates in the area, the comfort food from their homes. All this a value-for-money price and a memorably ambient environment.
With an in-house deli, bakery, and bar, this eatery sits comfortably on the edge of the Malcha Marg market, makes the ideal setting for a quick pick-me-up breakfast on busy mornings, a tranquil Sunday brunch, or even a buzzing watering hole for after-hours.
Spread across three tiers, Schengen caters to any culinary needs, be it for hearty paellas, a blueberry cheesecake for a memorable birthday, or even a heady Cuban Daisy cocktail.
The interiors have been designed by the owner Bhanu Nehra himself, and are again inspired from various artworks glimpsed during his European sojourns. Dressed in white and pale green with yellow windows and doors, the eatery delivers a calm, comfortable feel that is livened up by jolly latino music. A multitude of colourful plates with scenes from different parts of the Schengen area decorate the walls, while a giant wine rack connects all three floors. “The idea behind the décor was to create a calm place where conversations start from food, and bubble forth,” says Nehra.
The ground floor that seats 22 people, hosts a cosy café with a deli and confectionary counter for on-the-go breakfasts, and desserts. The first floor with a seating capacity of 42 seats (indoor; 32 seats outdoor) offers an afternoon dining menu with à la carte selections.
The bar has been strategically positioned on the second floor, and connects to an al fresco seating area. There is a choice selection of Tuscan wines, Champagnes and Single Malts in addition to signature cocktails.
Bhanu Nehra, of Delhi's Mia Bella resto fame, is a foodie at heart and a globetrotter by nature. He has married his love of the two with the launch of this restaurant. A fitness buff, his affixation on a healthy eating has been implemented by procuring the freshest produce for every dish, sourced locally and imported. The other partner from Mia Bella, Kartikeya Tiwari is a partner as well in this.
The Executive Chef at Schengen, Gaurav Mishra, has devoted nine years to his passion for New World Cuisine, and hails from several fine restaurants such as The All American Diner, The Indian Habitat Centre, Rajwada Fort, Jaisalmer, (in addition to many others).

Schengen also plays host to the only bakery in Malcha Marg. This cakery and confectionary delivers sinful treats such as baklava, macarons, and delectable chocolate cakes. These sugary and savoury treats have their origins in countries like France, Switzerland, Italy, Sweden, Spain, amongst other Schengen regions.
