It is indeed a proud privilege to introduce ourselves as a leading and one of the oldest N G O in our country. Inspired by S wami Vivekananda’s philosophy a group of most respected and eminent personalities from Socio Political fraternity came together at various points to work with grassroot initiatives for effecting positive changes in the lives of UNDER PRIVILEGED, SOCIALLY EXCLUDED CHILDREN. To name a few are :- Late Vijaya Laxmi Pandit, Dr. Bidhan Ch. Roy, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Dr. R. Ahmed ( after whom Dr. R.Amhed Dental Hospital is named ), Dr. Maitrayee Bose ( was house physician of Ravindra Nath Tagore’s family ). Their passion and conviction gave birth to Save The Children Committee (India) on 26th. February, 1944 and within a couple of years number of Homes came up in various districts of West Bengal. It may not be out of context and you all would surely be enthralled to know that the 1st. donation came from Madam Chiang Kai-Shek the great Chinese statesman and wife of the then president and great leader of Chinese Republic Chiang Kai-shek for INR 50,000.00 that too in the year 1943.
Since birth the focus has always been to ensure all POOR CHILDREN TO QUALITY EDUCATION, HEALTH CARE AND NUTRITION, A HAPPY AND CREATIVE CHILDHOOD, SAFE AND CARING SHELTER FREE FROM, EXPLOITATION, ABUSE & VIOLENCE. We therefore have been promoting and propagating to all the marginalized children :-
A sense of belonging in a secure and loving home without any bias on caste, creed & religion.
To be amongst they can trust and on whom they can depend.
To be healthy and well fed.
To enjoy the freedom of laugh and play.
To discover their individual talents and explore their creativity.
To receive an education that challenges their minds and prepares them for a life of independence.
Over all these decades although we have forged partnership with various organizations, individuals & volunteers to carry forward our vision & mission we never explored in an aggressive way the huge potential of building a strong strategic partnership with reputed corporate of your stature and reputation. So long we were and are depending on Govt. funding which is bare minimum ( Rs.1250.00 per month per child ) and has been struggling really hard to survive, deliver and sustain. Under the circumstances we are bound to fail in our endeavour unless the corporates and highly placed individuals come forward and lend their support in all forms in order to ensure smooth running of the Homes.
As mentioned hereinabove that, we are on with Govt. Funding our Governance and Accounts are elaborate, multilayered strictly conforming to all Govt. norms and needless to mention absolutely transparent. Every single paisa of earning and expenditure is accounted for as per laid down parameters.
We wish to have you as a Project Partner & lend your support to the cause. We are firmly convinced that, each one of us can, in our own small way, be agents of change and when enough of us are moved to this the impact is a lasting change for the better social environment.
