Satara Polytechnic is established in 1983 under aegis of Satara Education Society (Established in 1935) Satara. It is one of the well reputed Polytechnic of Western Maharashtra. It has identified thrust areas as E-Learning, Entrepreneurship for Socio-economic up-liftment of rural area. We have a good liaison with Government and national level organisations for Quality improvement in the technical Education. The Institute is located on the National Highway (Pune-Banglore) No.4 (NH-4) and 128 KM away from Pune. Satara is a District place, well connected by rail and road transport.

Satara Polytechnic is affiliated with All india council for Technical Education (AICTE),New Delhi, Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra State, Mumbai and Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE), Mumbai.

New campus of Satara Polytechnic is spread over the area of 17.5 acres. Newly constructed building around 1,00,000 sq. ft. is exclusively available for the educational activities of the polytechnic. Most of the pass students are now the technological leaders in various areas.

Changing with time, Satara polytechnic is now planning to educate the masses for vocational and e-learning skills. Techno entrepreneurship, Soft skills, technology management and innovations are the priority areas to pace with time.
