Saroj Mohan Institute of Technology (Degree Engineering Division) is one of the 16 Engineering Colleges under Techno India Group, the largest educational organization in eastern India. SMIT (Degree Division) was established in the year 2003 with a view to imparting quality technical education in its region. With its decade long endeavour in imparting quality technical education in Engineering and Technology the college has earned a good repute in its domain.
Situated in Guptipara (35 Km. from Bandel), a quiet serene township, that hosts a cultural background of almost 150 years, the college buildings stands tall within a covered area of more than 10 acres. Greenery is in abundance, which is a rare sight in the cities and the air people breathe here is absolutely pollution free.
At SMIT (Degree Engineering Division), education rarely confines in the classrooms. Students are encouraged for hands on experience by their involvement in Project well supported by series of Workshops/Seminars etc. As a result, the SMIT (Degree Engineering Division) has been chosen by the IIT-Mumbai as one of its REMOTE CENTRE for faculty development through distance learning education.
