Saraipali is a city and a municipality in Mahasamund district in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. First Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Late Pandit Ravishankar Shukla was elected from Saraipali constituency.Saraipali Tahsil, with population of about 1.9 lakh is Mahasamund district's the 3rd least populous sub district, located in Mahasamund district of the state Chhattisgarh in India. There are 235 villages in the sub district, among them Toshgaon is the most populous village with population of 2854 and Katangpali is the least populous village with population of 13. Bondanawa Pali is the biggest village in the sub district with an area of 10 km2 and Debrigarh is the smallest with 0 km2.There is only one city in the sub district that comes under the sub district administration which is Saraipali Nagar Panchayat.GeographySaraipali is located on the border of Chhattisgarh and Orrissa in the Mahasamund district, east of the state capital, Raipur. The nearest towns are Basna ( west), Padampur ( south), Bargarh ( east) Sarsiwan ( north) and Sarangarh ( north). It is one of the fastest growing towns in the Mahasamund district and had a population of approximately 20,118. The town does not have an airport or a railway station but there are many bus routes connecting with other towns and cities.
