Sadhana dell Arte

Sadhana dell ´Arte Centre is located in Merces village, close by to Panjim, Goa - INDIA. Sadhana is based in the more than hundred years Casa João Francisco, a very old house where we seek to develop the contemplative mission of man on an unexplored horizon of the search for the transcendent, through the practice of the arts. Sadhana is, therefore, a space to recreate ourselves in the beauty of the Trascendental. Years of active and meditative practice of music, the arts and education have awakened, in those who have created this Centre, the certainty that this project can contribute decisively to the difficult task of "socialization" of the contemplation and practice of the music and arts as a vehicle to access the transcendental.
Sadhana´s concept encompasses the classical formula expressed by the early Christian monks, which is also present in the meditative practices of India: Ora et labora (pray and work) - by being "contemplative in action", man creates the extraordinary in stillness and silence.
In Indian philosophy the practice of Sādhanā prevents the excess of worldliness and the dominion of external molds on the mind, and creates a disposition (bhāva) that develops the knowledge of awakeness and non-attachment to superficiality. Sādhanā is a means whereby human will can turn existence into liberation, art and worship.
Sadhana is a realm where this difficult synthesis of action and contemplation, creation, education and interpretation of the arts, music and cultures takes place to create a new human experience of the extraordinary.
In this CENTRE FOR RESEARCH AND CO-EXISTENCE OF THE ARTS, MUSIC AND CULTURES we promote arts, music and cultures, hosting projects, artists, musicians and people to propitiate a new horizons of arts and culture in India.
