RIT, Rudrapur has been setup under the aegis of Aditya Charitable Trust and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The Institute is promoted by Technocrat Sh. Atul Bansal, who was associated with various corporate like Escorts Ltd., Hero Honda Ltd., Alpha Toyo Ltd., Minda Switch Auto Ltd., Honda Siel Ltd., Aurangabad Electricals Ltd., Acme Telepower Ltd., etc. He is well aware about the present industrial scenario and market requirements and hence has established this Institute to provide Industries with skilled professionals who can match with their requirements.

The campus is located in a serene environment, in the vicinity of the spectacular Kumaon and surrounded by the exotic Himalayan ranges in the city of Rudrapur. The nearest Airport is at Pantnagar.
