"Gandharbi," an institution promoting rich Indian cultural heritage with an extra emphasis on its Bengali lineage came into light in the first few years of this century. The main objective of the institution is to hone the skill of dancing and singing, especially "Rabindra Sangeet" and "Rabindra Nritya" in proper form as well as in true sense of "Rabindra Bhavna." Bengali Songs of various other gharanas and classical dances like Manipuri, Bharat Natyam etc. are our culture's integral parts. Hence we endeavour to nurture these genres of songs and dance forms too. Smt. Chaiti Majumdar, a leading singer of today's Bengal and the founder of this institution of culture here inspires people belonging to every sphere of life and society to realize their innate quality in her relentless effort. The untiring dedication of Smt. Majumdar has brought the institution many accolades in various state and national level competitions.
It is also an important landmark in the journey of "Gandharbi" that it participated in " Hazar Kanthe Rabindra Nath " at Netaji Indoor Stadium at Kolkata organized by MUKTADHARA. To add to its glory, it recently participated in the World Cultural Festival 2016 organized by "The Art of Living" in Delhi, the capital of India along with the participants of more than 150 other countries.
