More about Rampur , Dihuri "Akauni"

Rampur is situated in Goh block in Aurangabad, Bihar around 60 km far from Aurangabad city. Hasanpur in the north, Baxer & Motha in the south, Gangati & Sawbigha in the east and Dihuri in the west are the neighbouring villages of Rampur.
This village is having very proud history. The agriculture is the main profession of this village. There is mixture of small and big farmers and they are using the technology as well like tractors, harvesters and polishers for their farming.
The village is surrounded by the three different water bodies namely the Sone Canal System from the north side of the village, small canal (Paen) in the south which linked to the Sone canal for the source of water in it. Bilaru which brings the rain water from far and wide runs in the east containing a dam (Chahka) which controls water for irrigation. This dam too is linked with the small canal to push the rain water to spread over for irrigation.
From last few decades the education has been seen on high increase. We have an Anganwadi Kendra, a primary school and a middle school in Rampur. Almost 100 % of youth are educated. In this village, 99 % of girls have gone to middle school and few of them have moved towards the colleges.
The number of graduates is also high in this village. Now few parents are much more concerned about the higher education of their children and they started sending their children out of states for the higher studies like engineering and other bachelor degrees.
Few youths are involved in the study of foreign languages as well from the top most universities in India.
As far as the culture concern, the villagers celebrate the festivals like Holi, Diwali, dussehra and Chhath Puja etc. but the mainly they celebrate with the pom and show is Shree Gopashtmi Puja.
Gopastami puja or Gopashtami vrat is observed on eighth day in bright half of Kartik month (Kartik Shukla Astami). Sri Krishna Puja and Go Puja are the main rituals of the day. As per the Puranas, on Gopastami day Lord Sri Krishna and his elder brother Balarama became qualified cowherds, before this day, he was a keeper of the calves.
On this day, we have some cultural nights for two days.In the morning we perform a Puja of the statue of Lord Krishna along with Radha , his cows and their calves and multiple headed Sheshnaag. Then at night, we perfom plays for the day and the day after.
