Raj Heer

Raj Heer was born into a Punjabi Sikh family in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab. Her formative years were spent in the village atmosphere of Lodhi Chack, Tanda. She has been writing her own poetry and songs from an early age, weaving a fine tapestry of words and melody which reflect her love of sufi, folk, classical and popular traditions.

Graduating from Government College, Tanda, Raj progressed to the APJ College, Jalandhar where she studied vocals at masters level. After the completion of her university education Raj had the privilege of further tutelage under Sri Om Prakash Ji from Jalandhar, Pashupati Nath-Mishra ji from Banaras, and Ashwini Bhide-Deshapande Ji from Mumbai.

The talent of Raj Heer is versatile and dynamic, her skills encompass lyric writing, musical composition and stunning live performance. She sings with total passion and empathy and her voice is hauntingly beautiful.

Based in London for the past 10 years, Raj is ideally located to reach both Western and Eastern audiences. She has performed in the UK and many other European countries, as well as in India. Her stunning voice and elegantly vivacious stage presence has won her recognition and the opportunity to work with renowned artists such as Chase and Status, Cornershop and Bollywood music producer Prasad Sashte.

She has featured in a variety of films including the 2015 lollywood hit, "Dekh Magar Pyaar Se”, as well as numerous recordings which have reached the top 40 world i-tunes charts, and the top 10 Brit Asia charts.
