Raichur railway station is located in Raichur district in the Indian state of Karnataka and serves Raichur and the surrounding industrially efflorescent area. The station has three platforms.HistoryRaichur was the meeting point of two great railway systems of yesteryears – the Great Indian Peninsula Railway and Madras Railway. While the former started construction from Mumbai, the latter from Chennai. The two systems met at Raichur in 1871.The 58 km long Raichur-Gadwal railway track was opened in 2013.
