Queen of Apostle Church, Kurji Parish

The origin and development of the Catholic Church Kurji is bounded up with the founding of St. Michael's School, Kurji. The Church, named Sacred Heart Church began as a chapel for the school within the school campus with priest's residence attached to it. The chapel served as a mass centre of school in 1975. Re-named as Queen of the Apostle Church, Kurji, it was blessed in 1977 and became an independent parish in 1977.

1890 : Church of Sacred Heart was built
1891 : Blessing of the Church at kurji
1897 : Earthquake, no damage
1973-74 : More & more Christians began to settle down in the area.
1975 : Building a new Church at the present site began in 1975
1977 : The Church was blessed and named it Queen of the Apostles Church....
