Daily Pudhari – an intrinsic element of the social fabric of Maharashtra, has been a part of the progress of the state in India. This has made Daily Pudhari a powerful newspaper in Maharashtra - one of the most progressed state of India.
Founded in 1939, by the recipient of Padmashree award, Late Dr. G. G. Jadhav, the Daily Pudhari has been a reflection of the changing social, cultural, economic and political scenario ever since.
During the freedom struggle Dr. G. G. Jadhav was in the forefront and had worked closely with the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.
Remembering this glorious contribution of the Daily Pudhari in the freedom struggle and different social movements, the late prime minster Mr. Rajiv Gandhi personally visited Kolhapur to attend the golden jubilee celebrations of the Daily Pudhari in 1989. While in 2009 the union government released Commemorative postal stamp of Late Padmshree Dr. G. G. Jadhav on his birth centenary, at the auspicious hands of the then President of India Smt. Pratibhatai Patil.
The chief editor, the recipient of the Padmshree award, Dr. Pratapsinh Jadhav took over the charge of the Daily Pudhari in 1970. His vision has taken the Daily Pudhari to the zenith. Under his leadership the news paper has launched multiple editions in different districts of Maharashtra, Goa and North Karnataka.
Daily Pudhari is one of the most read newspapers in Maharashtra. It has power packed editions in the districts Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, Solapur, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Belgaum, Pune, Ahmednagar, Mumbai, Goa, Nashik, Thane and Raigad.

Daily Pudhari has launched the Fm Radio “Tomato” in 2007 which is an instant hit in the south Maharashtra.

Presently Dr. Yogesh Jadhav has taken command of the news paper as the Managing Editor. Under his leadership the newspaper is achieving all round successes. The newspaper has major expansion plans in a pipeline.

Daily Pudhari had organized a grand event to celebrate its Platinum Jubilee Year on January 3, 2015. The event was attended by the Prime Minster Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis and the Governor Maharashtra Vidyasagar Rao. Who’s who from all the walks of the life attended the grand event. In this even the PM Modi applauded the journalistic values nurtured by the Daily Pudhari.

Daily Pudhari recognizes its social responsibility beyond its role as a newspaper. The newspaper has always performed its duty in the different natural calamities and wars like Kargil.
In 2001 Daily Pudhari has donated Rs 2.5 crore to Army Central Welfare Fund for the construction of a hospital in Siachen. This hospital was built in just 7 months, which is itself a world record found mention in Guinness Book of Records. This is the only hospital at the highest battlefield in the world. The then defense minister George Fernandes while inaugurating the hospital had described the daily Pudhari as ‘the newspaper with conscience’.

The newspaper had donated funds for rehabilitation of victims of different natural calamities. The earthquakes of Gujarat and Latur are few of its examples.
