About Us

Peniel Ministries were started in the year 1970 pioneered by Evangelist late Bro. V.R.T.Arputharaj and his wife Mrs. Viji Arputharaj in a tiny village called Thirumani at Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu, India. Along with his 4 children & the mission with 10 members, Bro. V.R.T. Arputharaj conducted fasting prayers, all night prayers, week end prayers, Sunday schools. Also he gathered young people and conducted open air gospel meetings in villages. Every Sunday evening about 25 youth boys used to go in bicycles taking the gospel to various villages along with Bro.V.R.T Arputharaj. God used him mightily. Bro.V.R.T. Arputharaj spread the gospel in more than 100 villages and built few churches in villages, conducted hundreds of night prayers, fasting prayers, public crusades, and Sunday schools. He also led thousands of people to Christ and equipped more than 10 full time workers in the Lord’s vineyard. Nearly 30 years Bro.V.R.T. Arputharaj worked for the Lord as an EVANGELISM EXPLORER.

In the year 2002 God called his 2nd son Joel Sekaran for the full time ministry. Joel Sekaran finished his theological studies and took charge of Peniel ministries. Then the Peniel ministries were registered as INDO CHRIST EVANGELICAL MISSION with a vision to reach India with Gospel with a motto of CHRIST FOR ALL INDIANS. As a part of Indo Christ Evangelical mission Peniel praise and worship church was started in the year 2003 at a place called Sathya nagar, chengalpattu. Lord expanded Peniel church ministries with hundreds of people. Peniel Church conducts Sunday worship, bible study, fasting prayers, night prayers regularly. In the summer, church conducts Vacation Bible School for 250 children every year. Church believers are going for the village Gospel ministries.

Rev.Dr. JOEL SEKARAN, the Pastor of Peniel Church also conducts pastors meeting, Gospel crusades, seminars, youth meetings, family retreats. Rev. Dr. Joel Sekaran has vowed in building the Lord’s Kingdom in various angles and holding responsibilities like:
