Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda & Hospital (SDMCA&H) Hassan is managed by Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Educational (SDME) Society®, Ujire. The institute is established in the year 1992 at the city of Hassan, internationally known for Hoysala sculptures and Master Control facility of Indian Space Research Organization with the objective of providing Ayurveda Medical Education and Health Service. Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala and President of SDMES, a great visionary has developed this institute of par excellence with the motto of revitalizing the Indian Health Heritage with modem technology and scientific approach. The Institute is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka, Bengaluru and permitted by Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India, New Delhi and the Teaching Hospital is registered under Karnataka Private Medical Establishment Authority (KPMEA) Act
The institute is stretched at a sprawling campus of 39 acres with lush greenery on the National Highway No. 73. The 360 bed teaching hospital with 16 speciality out patient units is built in area of 1,44,000 sq. ft based on Ayurveda principle of evolution and Panchamahabhuta theory. Ayurveda Health concept of Preserve, Prevent & Promote (Triple P) is made into reality in 33,500 sq. ft area — Yogaksherna Ayurveda Centre. Academic block having 1,14,000 sq. ft with all facilities is available for learning and advanced research.
