Oral Medicine and Radiology KMCT

The Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology of KMCT Dental College is devoted to serving the people and dental profession of Calicut, by providing teaching and patient care concerning the diagnosis and management of disorders and abnormalities of the oral maxillofacial region.

Our faculty are also devoted to teaching the student to achieve proficiency in obtaining and evaluating a pertinent medical and dental history, evaluating results from a diagnostic clinical laboratory, conducting a systematic and thorough head-and-neck, as well as oral examination, selecting, obtaining and interpreting various intraoral and extraoral radiographs, working out a differential diagnosis, formulating a logical treatment plan based on the patient’s treatment need, thorough evaluation and dental management of medically compromised patients, performing proper infection control and following universal safety precautions, teaching habit cessation and diet counseling, nurturing good human values, ethical practice and communication abilities.

This department serves other departments by providing extra and intra oral radiographs, conventional and digital radiographs, medical laboratory evaluations, and oral medicine consultations.
