The Spaniards, the Portuguese travelled and gave as much as they took by way of food and spice and fruit and exotic ingredients.
While highlighting on the French, Dutch, Spanish and Portuguese Influences in the South Americas and globally. Peruvian food and Creole food hints on the borderline of spicy and the flavours are making a global impact today. Peruvian and Chilean cuisine is deeply rooted in old traditions and customs. The genre of ceviches and tapas is about good old honest cooking, the result of a myriad cultures, cooking styles and techniques. Like many ancient cultures its flavours are one amalgamation almost akin to a stew pot. The list of ingredients varies from fresh fruits to meats to fish to foods from the mountains which vary from that of the plains. All these make for a strange and heart warming cuisine.
