Bengaluru-based Odissi dance institution, Nrityantar is a humble attempt by young promising dancer Smt Madhulita Mohapatra, to promote and preserve India’s rich pluralistic cultural legacy by promoting Odissi dance by performing, teaching and nurturing finest talents. Nrityantar organises regular and special Odissi dance classes at various places in the city. It organises lecture demonstrations, dance programmes and performances for art lovers, connoisseurs and everyone for the promotion and popularisation of our rich art forms, to create awareness and to instill a sense of responsibility in individuals, institutions and society towards promotion and preservation of our proud art forms.
Nrityantar Dance Ensemble is one of the most sought after classical dance troupes in Karnataka and has performed at several prestigious dance festivals like International Odissi Dance Festival, Mysore Dussera Festival, Odissi International, Brahan Natyanjali, rangTARANG National Choreography Festival, Bengaluru International Arts Festival, Hubbali Habba, Nitya Nritya, Samanvaya Festival, KALA NADAM, Kinkini Nrithyotsava, Chhandakotsav, among others.
Nrityantar’s flagship Odissi dance festival, NAMAN is hugely popular, very well received and attended by art lovers to full & overflowing halls. Nrityantar hosted a classical dance event, Kāvyarasa in May 2015 to packed house, followed by Samarasa - a 2 day dance festival in May 2016 and Rasāsvāda - a festival of aesthetic delight with a day dedicated to promoting Male Classical dancers.
Nrityantar is a unit of Pratyusha Public Charitable Trust, a non-profit organisation registered under the Charitable Trust Act and with the Income Tax Department u/s 12(A).
